Church in the Park June 14th

Sunday, June 14th our 9 a.m. worship service will be held at Riverside Park in the bandshell area. Invite your friends and neighbors to join us “down by the riverside” for worship led by a worship band of Our Savior’s members against the backdrop of the Mighty Mississippi!

Should there be strong winds or threat of rain, we will worship as normal in our church. You can call our church number next Sunday (782-3468) and press option #2 “Activities This Week” for any updated information about where the service will be held.

After worship we invite you to stay at the bandshell for coffee fellowship and goodies provided by our Membership and Worship Committee.

Gospel According to The Chronicles of Narnia in July

Come immerse yourself in a world of mythical creatures, talking beavers and an evil White Witch that kept her world in a perpetual winter while discovering the basic concepts of Christianity: sin, betrayal, sacrifice, forgiveness, redemption, unity, and the battle of good versus evil.

Take a Break From the Sun at our Summer Fun Splash Parties

Come participate in Slip ‘n’ Slide races, a water balloon toss, and spray bottles battles this summer on June 28th and August 23rd after worship on the front lawn. Don’t forget your swim suit! All are welcome.

Whistle Down the Wind on May 19th

All are invited to watch and discuss the 1961 movie, “Whistle Down the Wind” on Tuesday, May 19th at 6:30 p.m. at OSLC. This is the story of a girl who discovers a man wanted for murder hiding in her family’s barn. When she asks him who he is, he says, “Jesus Christ,” just before he goes unconscious. The girl and her siblings are convinced that he is Jesus and try to hide him from grown-ups because as the girl reasons, “you know what happened last time the grownups found him.” The movie is filled with symbolism that relates to the Easter story and stars Haley Mills and Alan Bates. The movie runs for 99 minutes and the popcorn is free.

Join Family and Youth Team For Dinner and a Movie

The Family and Youth Team invite you to Dinner and a Movie on Friday, July 23rd! Join us at 5:30 p.m. for a light supper, followed by the movie The Princess and the Frog.

Vacation Bible School August 2nd – 6th

Our Savior’s Vacation Bible School will be held in the evenings of Sunday, August 2 – Thursday, August 6, 2009. This year our program is SonForce Kids, a week of out-of-this-world adventure!

Through their adventures children will be challenged to TRUST in God’s Plans, UNITE with God’s People, TRAIN for God’s Service, FOLLOW in God’s Path and LEAD Others to God’s Promises! We will have a great time with lively songs, hilarious skits, creative crafts, exciting games, Bible stories and tasty snacks – all of the things that make Vacation Bible School so much fun for children. On top of that, we will be helping children learn about how to have courage to serve God as His special agents. SonForce Kids can be an inspirational and educational adventure for the entire family.
