Our Administrative Assistant is the first representative of the congregation whom many people encounter.  It is crucial, therefore, that this person be a gracious friendly professional.

The duties shall include, but are not solely limited to, the following:

  1. Answer telephone and greet visitors to the facility during office hours in a friendly professional manner, providing assistance as needed
  2. Maintain the pastor’s schedule and appointments, and prepare material s/he might use
  3. Produce printed materials for congregational use, including weekly worship bulletins, monthly newsletters, as well as other congregational mailings and reports.
  4. Assist in updating the congregation’s website and Social Media
  5. Serve as the computer resource person for the office and staff.
  6. Manage relationships with vendors, for example: Service Master, A+ imaging, etc.
  7. Maintain congregational records.
  8. Support financial and bookkeeping duties as directed by the bookkeeper including posting weekly giving and preparing quarterly statements.
  9. Serve as administrative assistant to pastors and other designated staff.  Also, assist in planning and carrying out projects/events.
  10. Carry out additional duties as assigned by the pastor.

The skills and qualifications candidates should possess include:

  1. High School diploma
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  4. Ability to understand and support the Lutheran worship or willingness to learn
  5. Ability to prioritize
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality
  7. Some knowledge of accounting and money management
  8. Flexibility
  9. Commitment to the Christian faith
