The Youth and Family Ministry Team Needs You!

have youth, like youth, hope to have youth someday, know a youth, or even seen a youth before?

Good, because we need you! The Youth and Family Ministry Team is looking for people like you who care about our youths’ futures and would like to invest in their lives. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the team, please contact the church office, or join us at our next meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Task Force Members Needed

The Church Council has three projects ready to start now:

• Our 150th anniversary as a congregation is in 2011, and we will start celebrating next year. That anniversary committee is looking for people ready to plan.
• There is a need for people who want to use their visioning, planning, design or construction gifts to help the renovation of our Fireside Room. It has been completely cleared out to the bare floor and walls (you are free to look in) and we are ready to step forward.
• We need one person to work on a short-term task force to help us choose new tables and chairs for the Fellowship Hall.

Our Savior’s Polo Shirts for Sale

Incorporating our beautiful new church logo, these shirts are fine quality 65% poly/35% cotton collared polo shirts that should not shrink. In men’s sizing, S, M, L, XL and XXL, each size comes in a variety of colors. When colors sell out, we will take orders for more, which will arrive shortly. The cost is $20, and the money goes to our youth heading to the Youth Gathering in New Orleans. These will make wonderful gifts and be a great outreach for our church as well. They are available in the church office during business hours.

Prayers for Members of the Armed Forces

Please contact the church office if you have a family member in the armed forces. As we pray for peace, we also want to specifically pray for the safety of the sons, daughters and friends of our congregation. Also, if these designations have changed, please help us to change our lists accordingly. Thank you!

Worship Assistants Needed!

Your help is needed! The calendars are posted on the board by the Pastor’s office. Please consider lending a hand during worship. Thank you for sharing your time and talent!!

Old Eyeglasses Needed!

If you have old eye glasses, the Lions’ Club would be happy to have them! You may deposit them in the Loins’ Club box on the table across from the Pastor’s office. The Lions’ Club members send them to Mexico and Central America where they are reused by those in need. Thank you for your support!

Altar Guild Looking for Members!

The Altar Guild Groups are looking for new members. The Altar Guild is not only for women! There are 6 groups, each group serving two months per year. Duties include preparing the altar for communion, placing the floral arrangements out, setting cups for communion, changing the paraments (altar/lectern/ pulpit banners) as needed, prepare the baptismal font and banner when needed.

Acolyte Substitutions

If confirmation students are unable to acolyte on their assigned Sunday, we ask that they try to find someone to switch with or to substitute for them. If they are not able to find someone, they should contact Sue Staples or the church office no later than the Wednesday before they are to serve. The church has contact information to help them reach another confirmand. Thank you!

Mobile Meals

OSLC is responsible for the following dates to deliver meals to area residents:

• March 9th-15th
• June 8th-14th
• August 31st – September 6th.

We are currently in need of drivers (and back-up drivers) for deliveries. Pick-up time is 11:30 a.m. at Gundersen/Lutheran. You may volunteer for one or more days during that week. If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to volunteer, please contact Betty Linse or the church office. Thank you!

Prayer Chains

We have three prayer chains (daytime, evening and electronic) operating at Our Savior’s. The electronic prayer chain is conducted through e-mail. When you receive a call you simply take a moment to pray for the person and then make your next phone call. If you are on the electronic prayer chain, you take a moment to pray when you get the e-mail and you don’t have to pass it on.
