Tickets Available July 1st for 2010 WCC Fashion Cornucopia

Plan now on attending the fabulous Women’s Clothes Closet fashion show fundraiser “Fashion Cornucopia” on Saturday October 30th. There will be two shows with the doors opening at 11:00 am and 5:00 pm for the luncheon and dinner shows respectively. Tickets will be available at the church office on July 1st. The cost for the show is $25. The shows will feature fall and winter women and men fashions from local area businesses. Live music will be provided by Josh & Kim Shively and Company and the WCC will be open for tours the day of the show.

Volunteers are still welcomed. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Deb Daehn Zellmer.

Double Your Women’s Clothes Closet Donations in March

There is still time to double your donation! The Women’s Clothes Closet is currently raising money for a “challenge” grant from Thrivent Financial. With this grant, any money donated or raised (from now until March 31st) for the WCC will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000!

Every Sunday morning in March, there will be a change jar located in the Narthex area if anyone would like to donate loose change. Thanks to everyone for their support!

Wine and Cheese Open House For WCC on March 27th

The Women’s Clothes Closet cordially invites you to a Wine and Cheese Open House at the historic Holway House on Saturday, March 27th from 4:00 PM -7:00 pm.

Hosted by Mrs. Jane Wood, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Women’s Clothes Closet. Suggested minimum donation is $25 per person. Matching funds provided by a challenge grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Spaghetti Dinner for WCC on February 14th

On Sunday February 14th, the Come For Supper Team will be holding a spaghetti and meatball supper from 4 pm to 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall here at OSLC.

The spaghetti meal is free; a free-will offering will be taken to benefit the Women’s Clothes Closet. Contact the Social Ministry Team with questions or if you would like to help out. All are welcome!

Double Your Women’s Clothes Closet Donation!

The Women’s Clothes Closet has received a $5000 Economic Outreach Bridge Grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Congratulations!

The WCC also received an Economic Bridge Challenge Grant. Any funds raised for the WCC between now and March 31st will be met dollar for dollar from Thrivent up to $10,000. This is a great opportunity for the Women’s Clothes Closet to purchase some much-needed supplies!

WCC’s Fashion Cornucopia Tickets Available Now

The Women’s Clothes Closet will be holding its annual “Fashion Cornucopia” Style Show on Saturday, October 10th at Our Savior’s Lutheran in La Crosse. There will be two seatings this year for the style show and gourmet meal. Doors will open for the first show at 11:00 and at 5:00 for the second show. The style show will feature fashions from downtown merchants including Chic Boutique on Main, City- Wear, Dale’s for Men and Women, Funk, Kick on Main, Lillian’s of La Crosse, Scott Joseph Menswear, Three Rivers Outdoor, and Touch of Class. New this year will be fashions for your man! The event will include a gourmet meal, wine for purchase and tours of the Women’s Clothes Closet before and after the style show. Josh and Kim Shively and Company will provide live music for the show.

Tickets are on sale now for $25 and sold in advance only. Contact Our Saviors Lutheran Church and get your ticket today! Payment for tickets should be made out to the Women’s Clothes Closet and sent to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 612 Division Street, La Crosse, WI 54601. All proceeds will benefit the Women’s Clothes Closet.

Through generous donations from the community, the Women’s Clothes Closet provides gently used clothing to low income women targeting those who are entering or in the work force. In 2008 the WCC had 1689 client contacts serving 525 different women in the Coulee Region. This was a 28% increase in client contacts compared to 2007! Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help pay the WCC coordinator, purchase personal products for our participants or improve our facility.

Fashion Cornucopia Saturday, Oct. 10th

Fashion Cornucopia 2009 will be Saturday, October 10th. We will have two great shows of fall & winter fashions along with an exquisite meal prepared by our own CFS Team (and served by the handsome OSLC Men’s Club). This show is a fundraiser to help meet on-going expenses and to increase exposure and donations for the Women’s Clothes Closet.
