Butter Braids on Sale Until November 18th

It’s time for butter braids! Our Savior’s Youth Group is once again selling these tasty pastries. Butter Braids come in a variety of flavors, and cost only $11 each. Anyone who pays in full while placing an order will also get their Butter Braids delivered right to their door on November 23rd.

Butter Braids will be available for pick-up on Sunday, November 29 and Sunday, December 6 after worship in the Fellowship Hall. Please make your check payable to OSLC Youth Group.

Sunday School/Confirmation Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for Our Savior’s Sunday School and Confirmation. Pick up a registration form on the first day of class, or download a registration form here.

Confirmation Orientation September 9th

On Wednesday, September 9th, there will be a start-up meeting with all new Confirmation students and parents. Any new confirmands, 3rd grade and any older grade, with parents/guardians will meet at 6:30 pm.
All 10th graders and parents/guardians will meet at 7:15 pm. This will include all First Communion students 3rd grade and older, and any other students between 3rd and 9th grade who wish to join our program. All high schoolers and interested parents/guardians will meet at 8:00 pm to hear about the 2010 Summer Mission Trip.

For returning students, a parent/child meeting will begin each session. The yearly schedule will be mailed to all at the beginning of September.

Our First Communion sessions start on Wed. September 16th, 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm, and the Sacrament will
be received on All Saints Sunday, November 1st. Anyone third grade and older who is not yet receiving
Holy Communion is invited to come to these confirmation classes.

Help Send Our Youth to New Orleans

Help send our Youth to New Orleans in two special ways!

In Jackson Square, the crossroads of New Orleans’ French Quarter, there will be a big kettle to fill with quarters. Our goal as an ELCA Youth Gathering is a ONE MILLION DOLLAR offering to combat hunger. That equals $30 per youth attendee. Thank you for your gifts this Sunday!

Could you be a prayer partner for one of our youth (Nylan Hynek, Tom Dereszynski, Ariel Watson, Brittney Dolan, Elise Hynek, and Brittany Taylor)? We ask for members to send the group, along with adult leaders Jessica Zinniel and Pastor Jolivette, with daily prayers. Put your name and prayer partner on a pew card on Sunday, and remember to read our blog, which will be updated daily on our website. Thank you!

Come immerse yourself in a world of mythical creatures, talking beavers and an evil White Witch that kept her world in a perpetual winter while discovering the basic concepts of Christianity: sin, betrayal, sacrifice, forgiveness, redemption, unity, and the battle of good versus evil.

Take a Break From the Sun at our Summer Fun Splash Parties

Come participate in Slip ‘n’ Slide races, a water balloon toss, and spray bottles battles this summer on June 28th and August 23rd after worship on the front lawn. Don’t forget your swim suit! All are welcome.

The Family and Youth Team invite you to Dinner and a Movie on Friday, July 23rd! Join us at 5:30 p.m. for a light supper, followed by the movie The Princess and the Frog.

Plant Sale May 9th

The Family and Youth team will be having a plant sale on Saturday, May 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Proceeds from the plant sale will support the Youth for their trip to the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer.

Any unsold plants will be available for purchase on Sunday, May 10th. Stop by the Fellowship Hall after worship to get a head start on your garden!
