Pastor Vern Skarstad
Hello, members and friends of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
My name is Pastor Vern Skarstad and I have just joined your pastoral staff here at Our Savior’s as a part time visitation pastor to work with Pastors Mark and Gary. I am in my 46th year as a pastor in the ALC and now the ELCA, and a graduate of St. Olaf College and Luther Theological Seminary. I have served congregations in Kent, WA; Howard Lake, MN; Albert Lea, MN; Kansas City, MO; San Antonio, TX; and Florissant, MO (St. Louis suburb) before retiring in 2006. My wife, Elaine, is a retired RN.
We moved to this area to be half way between our children Lisa, in Wauwatosa, WI, and Erik, in Albert Lea, MN, and our five grandchildren. Elaine’s mother lives in Rochester, MN, so we are close to her as well. I am currently serving Bells Coulee Lutheran Church, rural Bangor, every Sunday morning so you won’t be seeing me on Sunday mornings. I look forward to working with Pastor Mark and Pastor Gary and serving you here at Our Savior’s.
